New Jersey native Artie Lange of The Howard Stern Show and co-author of the #1 New York Times Best Selling book "Too Fat to Fish" threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Newark Bears game against the Camden Riversharks at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on August 18th.
The Camden Riversharks defeated the Newark Bears 6-5 last Tuesday night, but lost to the Bears 10-8 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Newark Bears, led by World Series-winning manager Tim Raines and former major leaguers Carl Everett and Armando Benitez, are vying for first place in the Atlantic League. Game Schedule
About Artie Lange
Artie is a stand-up comedian, radio personality, author and actor. Lange co-wrote his first book with Anthony Bozza entitled "Too Fat To Fish", which was released on November 11 of last year. Artie has struggled throughout his career with self-destructive behavior that include wild eating, drinking binges and substance abuse.
The talented but tormented co-host of The Howard Stern Show reported this week that his weight was down from 300 to somewhere "in the 230s." Lange has become addicted to Jet-Skiing which he claims accounts for much of the weight loss.
