Mount Olive Chamber To Host 24th District Reps

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY – New Jersey State Senator Steven V. Oroho, Assemblywoman Alison L. McHose and Assemblyman Gary R. Chiusano, all representing the 24th District, will be the featured speakers when the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a special meeting on Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in the International Trade Center.

The special meeting is being sponsored by the Mount Olive Wyndham Garden Hotel starting at 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be served.

The legislators will bring chamber members and guests up to date on current legislation that could have an affect on businesses in Mount Olive and throughout New Jersey.

“This is a great opportunity for local business people to find out what’s going on in Trenton and how they can get involved with legislation that is being considered,” said Rick Ege, President of the Mount Olive Chamber.

Mrs. New Jersey America Pageant call for entrants

NEW JERSEY - Applications are being accepted for the 2009 Mrs. New Jersey America Pageant state competition, being held on July 17th & 18th of 2009.

The Mrs. New Jersey America Organization proudly celebrates beauty, intelligence, commitment and the integrity of New Jersey's married women, who are the centerpieces of the family unit. Our organization honors their accomplishments that exemplify the culmination of balancing family, career and the positive effect they have in our communities.. Competition includes: Interview, Beauty & Poise, Evening Gown and Swimsuit. There is NO talent category. You must be at least 18 years of age, married, a U.S. citizen and a resident of NJ for at least six months. No pageant experience is necessary.

The state winner receives an all-expense paid trip to participate in the 2009 Mrs. America Pageant, plus many other fabulous prizes!

MOUNT OLIVE, NEW JERSEY - Mount Olive High School Key Club and the Mount Olive Kiwanis Club are hosting the 2009 Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29th, 2009 in Turkey Brook Park on Flanders Road, Mount Olive, New Jersey.

Event Registration begins at 12:30pm, the Egg Hunt will begin promptly at 1:00pm. Donations are $3 per child or $5 per two children. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available for $5 each, or $8 for two.

No pillow cases will be allowed; and children should bring baskets or small bags.

Only children under 3 may be assisted by an adult to collect eggs.

Mt Olive Sunshine Recreation Scholarship Fund

MOUNT OLIVE, NEW JERSEY - Pepper in some Fun on Monday, March 30th, 2009 at the Chili's of Mount Olive to support the Mount Olive Sunshine Recreation Scholarship Fund. Chili's has pledged to donate 10% of their sales from 11am to 11pm.

Mount Olive Sunshine Recreation Scholarship Fund provides financial support for children from financially challenged families to participate in Recreation Programs. Families that receive scholarships are also expected to give back to the community through volunteering in Mount Olive Community Service projects.

"Your support of our community will allow others to give back and support our community," said Jill Daggon, Mount Olive Recreation Department Director. "Recreation activities and programs are a vital quality of life service that has so many benefits -- developing healthy lifestyles, combating childhood obesity, reducing stress, connecting families and character development."

MOUNT OLIVE, NEW JERSEY - Rich Ramirez, who has appeared on Comedy Central, A&E’s “American Humor: What’s So Funny”, and NBC’s hit drama series “Law and Order”, will bring his incredible sense of humor to the Wyndham Garden Hotel in the International Trade Center on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009.

Sponsored by Picatinny Federal Credit Union, this will surely be 'One Funny Luncheon' as the ITCA celebrates April Fool’s Day with comedic style!

The luncheon, which runs from noon to 1:00 with the show beginning at 12:15, is open to ITCA associates, family and friends, and the business community. HARLAN, IOWA - We would like to give a very special shout out for West Ridge Elementary School in Harlan, Iowa. Mrs. Newlin's 5th grade Social Studies class is currently studying geography and the history of our states.
