MOUNT OLIVE, NEW JERSEY - Yesterday, The New Jersey FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament was held at the Mount Olive High School Gymnasium. The 2007 tournament included forty-eight FIRST LEGO League teams from New Jersey. This event is a community celebration of the achievements of middle school students (ages 9-14) working smart in science and technology.
Starting this year, entry into the NJ State Tournament required qualifying as a winner of a local event. Depending on the size of the local tournament, the Champion's Award winner along with winners of the individual categories (Robot Performance, Teamwork, Research Project and Technical Presentation) received an invitation to the State Tournament.
